Executive Presence has come to be the most sought out outcome in Executive Coaching.
While many believe that it stands for building a wrapper around who you are and what you bring to the table, it's (much) more than that.
It's the conscious orchestration of your knowledge, behaviour and presence to influence what matters most.
While there are many meaningful definitions of Executive presence from various pioneers, the below is a humble attempt to create a definition that resonates from coaching executives:
Executive presence is the Authentic ability to
Command Respect, Inspire Trust, and Influence Outcomes through a powerful blend of
Credibility, Character, Contextual Awareness, Strategic, Systems Thinking and Communication Mastery.
To develop such an Executive presence, one needs to breakdown the abstract to make realistic sense. Here is an attempt.

Many executives think the whole of "presence" is on their "presentation delivery" or an ability to "influence others to agree".
Nothing can be farther from the truth. We need all the 3 boxes working effectively to create the "executive" and "presence".
If you are an executive looking to enhance your presence, the below are reflections for you:
Where are you doing well already in input, process and output?
Where do you have value conflicts in showcasing your ability?
What are your stakeholder perceptions indicating about your presence?
What is the one area you will consciously upgrade?
Where can you use some help from a mentor or a coach?
More on the framework in the blogs to follow.
